About Me
If you want to know me a bit better, you've come to the right page!
Art has been a constant in my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up with ADHD and OCD, I was always chasing the next creative outlet, but no matter where I wandered, I always came back to painting.
I was born in Birkenhead, England, and spent my formative years (ages 4 to 17) growing up in Freeport, Bahamas, before eventually settling on Vancouver Island. I've spent my entire life surrounded by the ocean, and I think that's shaped everything about the way I see the world. Every island, every shoreline, every tide, the ocean has been the one constant through every big change and new beginning.
That connection to the coast runs deep in my work. My paintings are beach-inspired, and so is my process. I collect garbage washed up on the shore and use it as my tools, letting the ocean's waste become part of the art itself.
Which brings me to my absolute passion project: Their Home. Our Waste. This series is close to my heart. It's a direct response to what I find on the beach, a way of turning something harmful into something beautiful, and a reminder that the ocean isn't ours to fill. Every piece in this series is made entirely with found beach waste, and every one tells a story about what we leave behind.
